What actually happens
Neither. Muirfield has fixed Visitor Days — Tuesdays and Thursdays only, excluding public holidays — and takes no online bookings at all. Applications go by email or PDF form to golf services. The windows are narrow and dated: for 2027 the diary opened to tour operators on February 23, 2026 and to independent clients on March 18, 2026, closing March 27. No three-balls, two-balls or singles are accepted in peak months, May to September. The green fee is £395 for 18 holes in 2026, £420 in 2027, and the club states it is fully booked mid-April through October 2026, with new enquiries going on a cancellation list.
